We are proud to present the Chagrin Falls Historic Home and Garden Tour on Friday, June 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Saturday, June 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Featured are six select historic homes and gardens all within walking distance of downtown Chagrin Falls. There are two tour homes on Maple Street and four tour homes on South Franklin Street highlighting the broad range of historic architecture which creates the character of the Village of Chagrin Falls. Constructed between 1859 and 1933, homes on the tour include Italianate, Eastlake, Queen Anne and Colonial Revival architectural styles. One home was originally a barn constructed in 1859 and converted to residential use in 1897. Another home is the recently restored home of Otis McClentic, who built the stone McClentic building in downtown Chagrin Falls.

Spend the day and experience the ambiance and style of these homes which are part of the important architectural heritage of the Village. There will be van transportation provided in the Village by Hamlet Retirement Community for those who need assistance.

The Women’s Committee of the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre is serving its Famous Salad Luncheon Buffet on Friday, June 1 at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, 40 River Street between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For $15 enjoy salads, desserts and beverages. Purchase luncheon tickets at CVLT, www.cvlt.org or by calling 440-247-8955. You will be automatically be entered for complimentary tickets to “A Night in Provence”, playing at CVLT June 1-23.

Advance sale tickets are available for $20 if purchased before May 31st at 5 pm. You may purchase online, via the mail or at a number of locations in the area (see list below). If purchasing online, please pick up your tour package at the Visitor Center when you arrive in Chagrin Falls.

On June 1st or June 2nd, tickets and tour packages may be purchased at the Visitor’s Center for $25.

Many thanks to everyone who made Wine by the Falls events such an overwhelming
success. It was sold out for the second year! The winners of this year’s condo raffle are Karen and Matthew O’Hearn of South Russell. They will enjoy a one week vacation in a beautiful condo on Hutchinson’s Island Plantation, Florida.

The money raised will directly benefit the many events sponsored by Your HomeTown Chagrin Falls such as the Visitors Center, Merchant Marketing Forums, Economic Development, Design – Beautification – Preservation, Holiday Traditions Program, Biennial Historic Home & Garden Tour, Yoga by the Falls and the Farmers Market.

Our annual “Wine by the Falls.” fundraiser will be held at the Chagrin Valley Country Club on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 7 to 11 PM. The dress is cocktail attire. Chuck’s Beverages will present a collection of fine wine and beer along with delicious cuisine prepared by The Chagrin Valley County Club.

Music will be provided by the Brooke Hopkins Trio.

Raffle tickets for a chance to win a one-week getaway to a condo at the Indian River Plantation in Hutchinson Island, Florida are $20 each or 3 for $50.

 

Proceeds from the evening will support the following: The Visitor Center, Merchant Marketing Forum, Economic Development, Design, Beautification & Preservation, Holiday Traditions/Holly Hall, the Biennial Historic Home & Garden Tour, Yoga by the Falls and our Farmers Market.

We had a great evening on Tuesday at our second annual Girls Night Out.  Rick and Sharona entertained the crowd with a floor show at 7:30.  Groups of friends spent time visiting and enjoying the time together before and after the show.  Check out the photos from this year’s event!
